Hurlstone Agricultural High School
1971-1976
About Us
Our cohort is that group of young men who attended Hurlstone between 1971-1976. During our time Hurlstone was a fully functioning farm, complete with a commercial dairy, poultry, a piggery and vegetable plots. Students carried out all manner of farm functions and were provided a sound introduction to farm management, machine maintenance and animal husbandry.
Other associated activities were carried out during Compulsory Voluntary Service (CVS), a program designed to keep young men from being bored and getting up to mischief, as well as learning more about agriculture and hard work generally.
We are keen to sustain the school’s history, or at least our part of it, particularly in these times when certain forces are determined to interfere with this highly respected institution. This website serves to remember those who attended Hurlstone throughout our six year period; to highlight those people, to showcase events that took place then, and to celebrate each other today, together, as we continue to preserve our relationships with each other.
